One of the movements we challenge some of our patients with and observe as physical therapists is the deep squat. This is an extreme position that challenges your total body mechanics and neuromuscular control. The core must establish stability and control throughout the entire movement to achieve full motion. In many cases many deficits in ankles, hips, knees and shoulders become noticeable if appropriate stability is not used.
Try these 3 exercises to help increase mobility in your ankles and shoulders and help you optimize your deep squat and reach those movement challenges!
