AAPT Reset Method ///
Our physical therapy approach to pain is what sets us apart.
The Reset Method is a holistic approach to injury prevention and rehabilitation designed by Dr. Cody Johnson, DPT to help you live pain-free and perform at your best.

At AAPT, we understand that imbalances in the nervous system can disrupt movement patterns and lead to pain. We focus on helping you release tension and stress, restoring natural movement, relieving pain, and reducing the risk of further injury.

Hypersensitive muscles are a key factor in pain and restricted movement. Our goal is to relax these overactive areas and rebalance(restore) nervous system output in places that often go unnoticed. By doing so, your body can respond properly, improving mobility and reducing discomfort.

Tight, constricted muscles don’t just limit movement—they can also affect multiple systems in the body. When mobility is restricted, even simple movements can become painful.

Our Reset Method is a highly effective approach to relieving tight, hypersensitive muscles and restoring healthy movement patterns, helping you move freely and pain-free.

How It Works
01.
RESET THE NERVE
We use various techniques to reset a muscle, including Point Reset, Mechanical Pressure (through massage or a lacrosse ball), temperature contrast, laser therapy, electrical stimulation, percussion therapy, and moving a joint through its full range of motion.

02.
REEDUCATE THE MUSCLE
Incorporate strength-building exercises to retrain the muscle with the new signals it has received, enhancing recovery, power, and range of motion.

03.
Reinforce WITH Movement
Our approach includes customized at-home exercises to reinforce in-clinic progress, reeducate muscles, improve strength, and restore mobility. These targeted movements help accelerate recovery, maintain gains, and prevent future imbalances, ensuring long-term resilience.
